Ms. Ariel

Director

As a Director at Parkside 1, I lead from a foundation of hands-on experience, having worked in every child-facing role within our centers. This comprehensive knowledge allows me to effectively mentor staff and ensure our programs meet the highest standards of care. I am dedicated to using my holistic perspective to create positive outcomes for every child and family I serve.

Mr Brandan

Mr. Brandan

Family Worker

Hi, my name is Brandan, and I’m excited to be joining the team as a Family Worker. My passion for working with children really grew while coaching Little League, where I learned the importance of patience, encouragement, and building trust with kids and their families. I’m truly looking forward to supporting you and your children this year. You can feel confident that your little ones are in good hands, and I’m here to help in any way I can!

Ms Sulakshna

Ms. Sulakshna Vedvyas

Family Worker

Hi friends! My name is Ms. Sulakshna Vedvyas. I bring with me over two years of experience at Parkside 1, as well as one and a half years at the Jersey City Free Public Library. During this time, I’ve had the privilege of supporting families, connecting them with valuable resources, and fostering children's growth and learning while promoting their academic and social development.

• Programs Offered:

•  Pre-K 3:

  • Our program for three-year-olds is designed to foster a sense of independence and social confidence.
  • Using the HighScope approach, we focus on helping children make choices, express their needs, and engage in "plan-do-review" to build early problem-solving skills.
  • The classroom environment is thoughtfully arranged to encourage exploration and cooperative play, laying the groundwork for a successful learning journey.

•  Pre-K 4:

  • Our Pre-K 4 program is all about preparing children for kindergarten and beyond.
  • We continue to use the HighScope "plan-do-review" process, but with a greater emphasis on deepening critical thinking and early literacy skills.
  • Activities are more complex, and we encourage children to take on more challenging projects, building the confidence and academic foundation they will need for their next step.

• Extended Programs:

•  Before and After-School Care

  • Before and After-School Care: This program provides a seamless transition from the school day to a safe and enriching environment. Our HighScope framework extends learning beyond the classroom, offering a mix of activities, supervised free play, and opportunities for homework help to support academic and social growth.

•  Summer Camp

  • Summer Camp: Our summer camp is a fun-filled adventure. Each week is a new journey of discovery, with engaging activities and group projects designed to build social skills, encourage creativity, and foster a lifelong love of learning.

• Our Teaching Staff and Community:

  • Our Teaching Staff and Community: Our dedicated team of educators is the heart of our community.
  • Each of our teachers is highly skilled and passionate about early childhood education.
  • They create a supportive and engaging environment that nurtures every child's potential.
  • We believe in building a strong partnership between home and school, and our staff works closely with families to ensure each child’s unique needs and strengths are recognized and supported.
